I just recently got into mountain biking, and have been using my friends old specialed bighit which he is selling in about a week, so I will be needing a new bike. I have a few questions; I'm about 6' and 160lbs, what would be a good size bike? (20" ish?). Also, when is the best time to buy a bike (when are last seasons on sale?). Are there any good websites I could purchase from, or should I just find a local shop? I'm looking to get something like a specialezed rockhopper, but dont want to spend more than 500, so I'm shopping around... also, any other recomendations for a front suspension bike would be appreciated. Thanks

its a 16" (mens) gary fischer advance rst that i bought for about 400$ in 2003. it's never been on the trails or in an accident of any kind -- just used it for riding around campus. now that i'd like to get into mnt biking i find the frame is much to large for me to control on such terrain. if anyone can give me an approx resale value that'd be awesome! thanks!

I don't know a whole lot about bikes and bought it to exercise once in a while but are there a lot of different sizes of men's bikes? Because when I rode it(and I'm between 6 ft. and 6 ft. 1), it kinda seems small to me. I raised the seat on it but it's almost like I'm riding a kid's bike. I am used to riding the racing bikes so maybe it just feels different.
Are there bigger men's bikes? How big do they go? Am I too tall for the bike I got?
